Aktion Club of Ottawa – provides adult citizens with disabilities an opportunity to develop initiative and leadership
Caldwell Family Centre – provides services that feed and nurture – both physically and emotionally – the wellness of those living in Ottawa’s Carlington area. Operating as a day program, the social services and support assist the low-income and newcomer residents in our community
Caring & Sharing Exchange – provides our neighbours with relief and dignity during difficult times of the year in the most fair and efficient way possible. A caring and sharing community where individuals and families receive the coordinated support they need at Christmas and other times of the year..
Carlington Community Health Centre – helps individuals take control of their personal health, and works to improve the health and wellbeing of our community as a whole. The Centre provides a wide range of health, mental health and addictions services to parents and children, youth and teens, and seniors. They deliver these services through workshops, drops-ins, support groups, community meetings, training, outreach, counselling, and education programs.
Christie Lake Kids Camp – serves economically disadvantaged children and youth by providing recreation and skill-building programs at no cost and with all barriers to participation removed. Their mission is to enrich the lives and prospects of economically disadvantaged children, by providing quality year-round community and camp programs to develop physical, artistic, and social skills, positive attitudes and personal qualities.
Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre – is dedicated to helping youth (13-21) and families across Ontario overcome substance abuse and related issues and to achieve a healthier lifestyle.
Dovercourt Recreation Centre – is a not for profit charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our community through recreation programs.
Kiwanis International Eliminate Project – through The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus—a deadly disease that steals the lives of 34,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year
Kiwanis Youth, Key Leadership Camp – Key Leader is a program for today's young and emerging leaders. This life-changing event focuses on service leadership as the first, most meaningful leadership development experience. A Key Leader will learn the most important lesson of leadership – leadership comes from helping others succeed.
Kiwanis Music Festival – to encourage and promote the enjoyment and study of music in our community’s young people through the production of an annual competitive music festival.
Multifaith Housing Initiative – exists for one purpose: they want all people to have safe, continuous affordable housing, and when they do, their job will be done. They want housing to be affordable in Ottawa – for everyone.
OrKidstra – is a social development program for children aged 5 to 18 living in under-served areas of Ottawa. Their mission is to empower children and build community through the universal language of music. They carry out this mission by providing children from low-income families with free group and individual music lessons and the chance to learn important life skills like respect, compassion, teamwork, and responsibility through playing and singing together.
Ottawa Food Bank – their mission is simple: Help people get beyond hunger.
Ottawa Innercity Ministries – They are called to come alongside people experiencing poverty and homelessness, demonstrate the message of Christ in deed and word, show compassion, build self esteem and empower individuals through a strength based approach.
Ottawa Salus Corporation – is a registered Canadian charity that for over 35 years has been an unwavering champion in meeting the rehabilitation and supportive housing needs of adults in the Ottawa area with severe mental illness. Their clients most fervent hope is to begin a road to recovery from mental illness.
Ottawa Valley Ambassadors Hockey Club – advances the citizenship of athletes with developmental disabilities through participation in quality, organized hockey. Their players develop enhanced self-esteem through the development of both hockey and social skills.
Parkdale United Church In From The Cold – to provide an opportunity for people of Parkdale United Church, volunteers from the wider community, and guests experiencing poverty or other challenges, to come together in relationship while exploring the mystery and privilege of giving and receiving in the context of safety, loving hospitality, respect and dignity.
Pathways to Education – helping youth in low-income communities to graduate from high school and successfully transition onto post-secondary education, training, or employment. Pathways addresses systemic barriers to education by providing leadership, expertise, and a community-based program proven to lower dropout rates.
Severn Avenue Public School and W.E. Gowling Public School – committed to excellence in teaching using best practices within a safe and caring environment.
Shepherds of Good Hope’s Food Bank – creating community for all through acceptance, compassion and care.
SWAG (Students Will All Graduate) – in association with the Carlington Community Health Centre, the SWAG program works to increase high school graduation rate of students identified as most at risk of failing without intervention.
The Ottawa Mission – to provide food, shelter, clothing and skills, and offer healing, faith and hope for building a wholesome life.
Tools with Impact – to combat poverty in developing nations by providing underprivileged students with the necessary school supplies and equipment needed to attend and succeed in school.
Westboro Region Food Bank & Youth Centre – responded to a call for help to serve those people in need of emergency food in their community. The Westboro Region Food Bank works closely with the Carlington Community Health Centre to provide baby supplies and other important resources for its clients.
